Letters Home (from inside a family detention center for immigrants seeking asylum)

A young boy wrote about his journey.

Women and children wrote letters home to express the love and concern they have for people they had to leave behind when they began their journey to the United States to seek asylum from the violence in their homelands. It is important and healing to write the words even though the letters would not be mailed. The letters home then become the basis for the mixed media art reflection made by women and children inside a family detention center for immigrants seeking asylum.
